Raise the Seat With a Hand Crank and Transfer Without Taking the Weight

Manual crank height adjustment · Overall height 76 to 100 cm · 180 degree split seat · 120 kg capacity · Removable commode bucket · 25.5 kg

Transferring someone who cannot stand is the moment a carer's back is most at risk. The SectorCare Patient Transfer Chair removes the lift from it. Turn the crank handle clockwise and the seat rises, turn it anti clockwise and the seat lowers, so you can bring the chair level with a bed, an armchair or a toilet and move the person across rather than up. The 180 degree split seat opens fully to both sides, which is what makes that sideways transfer possible, and the removable commode bucket beneath the seat means a toileting trip does not call for a second piece of equipment.

The frame is thickened square steel tubing rated to 120 kg, measuring 60 cm wide and 77 cm deep with an overall height that adjusts between 76 cm and 100 cm. Twin telescoping columns with clamp levers hold the setting, and castors with brakes let one carer reposition the chair and then lock it before any weight shifts. The padded seat is 46 x 40 cm with a 55 cm wide backrest behind it. At 25.5 kg with foldable support legs, it is light enough for one adult to fold down and stow between uses, and the crank handle itself folds flat rather than catching on doorways.

Product Features

  • Manual crank height adjustment : turn the handle clockwise to raise the seat and anti clockwise to lower it, with no power, charging or batteries involved.
  • 180 degree split seat : both seat halves swing right out, letting you position the chair around someone already seated on a bed or sofa.
  • 120 kg load capacity : thickened square steel tubing built for daily repeat transfers rather than occasional help.
  • Triple safety locking : a safety belt buckle, a safety belt across the body and a clamping lock lever holding the split seat closed.
  • Removable commode bucket : lifts out of a wire holder under the seat for over toilet or bedside toileting, then empties and rinses separately.
  • Castors with brakes : roll the chair room to room across smooth indoor floors, then lock it before anyone sits or stands.
  • Padded seat and backrest : a 46 x 40 cm cushioned seat with a 55 x 16 cm backrest and shaped armrests for support while seated.
  • Foldable crank handle : folds flat against the column when the chair is being pushed or stored.
  • Quick assembly and compact storage : foldable support legs and detachable sections collapse the chair down between uses.

Perfect For

  • Home bedrooms : bring the seat level with the mattress and transfer sideways out of bed each morning.
  • Toileting at home : position over the toilet at the right height, or use the removable bucket at the bedside overnight.
  • Living areas : move between an armchair, the sofa and the dining table without calling for a second carer.
  • Aged care facilities : a compact transfer option for rooms where a full hoist is more equipment than the space allows.
  • Recovery at home : cover the weeks after a hospital stay when transfers are the hardest part of the day.

Safer Transfers at Home and in Care, Shipped Across Australia

A transfer chair earns its place by removing the moments where a carer takes the full weight of another adult. This one does that with a hand crank across a 76 cm to 100 cm height range, a 180 degree split seat, a 120 kg capacity steel frame, braked castors and a commode bucket that turns the same chair into bedside and over toilet toileting. It ships across Australia. Always follow your facility's manual handling procedure, and speak with an occupational therapist or physiotherapist about whether this style of transfer is suited to the person you are caring for.

FAQ

How does the height adjustment work?
By hand crank. Turn the handle clockwise to raise the seat and anti clockwise to lower it. There is no motor, battery or charging, and the handle folds flat when it is not in use.

How much weight can it hold?
The thickened square steel tubing frame is rated to a maximum user weight of 120 kg.

How high does the chair go?
Overall height adjusts between 76 cm and 100 cm.

Can one carer use it alone?
Yes. The split seat opens a full 180 degrees so you slide the person sideways rather than lift them, the castors lock, and three separate safety points hold the seat and the person in place. Follow your own manual handling training or facility procedure before transferring anyone on your own.

Does it work over a toilet?
Yes. The seat splits open and the height adjusts, so the chair can be positioned over a standard toilet. A removable bucket with a lid sits under the seat for bedside toileting.

Will it fit through my doorway?
The chair is 60 cm wide overall, which clears most standard Australian internal doorways. Measure your narrowest doorway before ordering.

How is this different from the hydraulic model?
This model uses a hand crank rather than a hydraulic foot pump. It is 6.5 kg lighter, packs into a smaller carton and has no hydraulic components to service.
